Hello,

At one point in time, I was trying to change the OS on a nextbook ares 11, I managed to do so, but then I wanted to try and install windows.

I went mucking about in the BIOS to get it play with windows and somehow I disabled the screen. The screen is not broken.

The device was last running remix OS 2.0 with the TWRP Recovery environment

The device runs the InsydeH20 BIOS.

The device still boots, I just can't see anything on it, and I don't know if the mini HDMI output works, I don't want to buy a cable only to find it the output doesn't work.

If anyone else who has done the same OS swap might be familiar with the procedure to enable the BIOS access.

I'm hoping that anyone who has done the same, might still have the device with acees to the BIOS and can guide me with a tutorial and screenshots of the BIOS to reenable the screen. I want to say the setting is somewhere in the "advanced" section of the BIOS.

Consumer Cellular tells me that the battery is not replaceable. Has anyone disassembled one of these tablets apart to see if that is really true?

When I plug in my Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 to charge, there is an X over the energy symbol if there is more than 50% of charge left. If I restart my Tab when it shows it is less than 50% charged and then plug it in, it will start to charge. If I don't restart it, there is an X over the energy symbol. If the battery is completely depleted, it will still charge—but very slowly.

Looking for a place to replace the battery for an HP 8 1401 tablet and a source for replacement parts

Hello everyone, I have an HP 8 1401 tablet with a severely swollen battery that has caused the screen to pop out of the frame (as shown in the attached photo). Since I have no experience with DIY repairs and am concerned about safety when handling a swollen battery, I’d like to find a professional repair shop or an experienced technician in my area to replace the battery. Additionally, since this model is quite old (2014), I’d also like to ask if it’s currently possible to find genuine replacement battery parts or any compatible alternatives? I’d really appreciate some advice from the community. Thank you!

Hello! I got my Lenovo tablet in June of 2013, but didn't begin using it until the following month. I wasn't frequently getting on my tablet until September of that year. I traveled with it across a few states and it had problems turning on, but managed to follow through until March of 2014. I left the laptop plugged in and charging for a few hours (to try and fix it), but it wouldn't turn back on. I don't want to pay obscene amounts to fix it or buy a new one, but if that's the case then I'll deal. Can you help me fix it ?

So, this tablet has been dropped numerous times, and after an overheating issue coming from the side of the tablet with the motherboard and SoC, it has been tucked away and left unused for good, and for a while.

A few days ago, the battery has bloated to the point of it being extremely large, and it has separated the front and back of the tablet greatly (the halves are held in with plastic clips).

My question is how should I separate the battery from the tablet's board, as it is soldered. There's not recycling places in my area that appear to accept hazardous batteries connected to devices, nonetheless, allow disposal of this for a whole week (because the Forth of July took place on Saturday, the one weekday the nearest place that accepts hazardous waste, including hazardously damaged Li-ion batteries, and they took that day off).

What should be done? I know to keep the tablet inside of a bucket full of sand, but we're doing the best we can without sand or any amount enough of dry, non-flammable materials to put in the bucket.
